A Guide To Candle Making And Soap Making

There are some hobbies that are quite popular today and one is candle making and soap making. It can be a lot of fun to get started in hobbies like this but you will need to know how to do it first. To get started let’s talk about how you make candles. To make candles you will usually want to stick with the gel candles if you are opening a business because they are the newest version and sell the best.

In terms of the ingredients you will need, if you have ever made paraffin wax or soy candles it is pretty much the same list only you need gel instead of wax or soy. The ingredients will vary depending on what specific recipe you are following but get started by placing a wick into a container and gluing it in then cut up your gel into small pieces and heat in a pot. Keeping an eye on the temperature used is very important because you do not want to overdo it and burn the gel. Once the gel has melted you add in the fragrance, mix it around, pour into the container and voila you have made a gel candle.

No one wants regular old soap that is going to be irritating to the skin anymore. Once you have all your supplies you want to mix your lye solution and set it aside to cool, melt your solid oils, add in the liquid oils and mix together. Use your sense of smell to determine how much fragrance you want to use for each batch of soap. Most people can tell by their nose how potent they want the soap to be.
